Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1835, highly-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and large lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a leafy stem bearing fan-shaped flowers. Heavy cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Area underneath each handle decorated with a wavy cobalt stripe bearing a stylized flower blossom. In-the-making stone ping on one side and smaller ping on opposite side. Minor chip on top of rim. Tight spider lines to underside, with a single line extending 3" up base of jar.
