Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Philadelphia, PA origin, circa 1860, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated around its circumference with a horizontal stem bearing flowers and graduated swags. Cobalt swag decoration to sides of collar and flanking the spout. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: Collection of Harry Meyer, McDonald, PA. Essentially as-made condition with some in-the-firing bloated spots to surface and one bloated spot to underside. A minor chip to underside at edge.
