Multi-Glazed Redware Tankard Pitcher, Strasburg, VA origin, late 19th century, cylindrical pitcher with footed base, tooled shoulder, short flaring rim, and ribbed strap handle, the surface decorated with splashed copper and manganese over a cream-colored slip ground and covered in a clear lead glaze. Provenance: Collection of Harry Meyer, McDonald, PA. Professional restoration to rim. Professional restoration to glaze on interior of spout. Light base wear. Glaze wear to handle. 2 1/2" x 1/2" in-the-firing contact mark on left side of front of pitcher. Some minor bits of clay adhered to body on right side of pitcher. Tiny nick to shoulder molding. H 9 3/4".
