Miniature Glazed Redware Pitcher with Manganese Slash Decoration, probably PA origin, 19th century, ovoid pitcher with footed base and cylindrical collar fashioned with a long, pointed spout, modeled after fine English ceramic forms. Surface decorated with diagonal manganese slashes in a manner similar to Great Road redware from Southwestern Virginia and Eastern Tennessee. Surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Wear to tip of spout. A small piece of in-the-firing adhered clay to handle. H 4".
