Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Slip-Trailed Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to H.H. Zigler, Newville, PA, circa 1852-1865, ovoid-bodied pitcher with tall collar embellished with a heavily-tooled rim, the body decorated with a slip-trailed design of three flowers with shaded petals and lines extending from the flowers' tips, along their stems, and in between. Pitchers by this maker are considered difficult to find. Provenance: Collection of Harry Meyer, McDonald, PA. Professional restoration to area on underside. Small spout chip and tiny spout nick. A few in-the-firing contact marks to front of pitcher.
