Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Inkwell with Coggled Motifs, attributed to Nathan Clark, Athens, NY, circa 1830, cylindrical form with central ink reservoir and two quill holes, decorated with a brushed wreath motif, the surface embellished around the outer edge and upper wall with raised circular coggling. An area of in-the-firing salt residue to base. A few minor, in-the-firing nicks. H 2" ; Diameter 4 3/8".
