Five-Gallon Lidded Stoneware "Ice Water" Cooler with Face Spigot and Incised Floral Decoration, attributed to the Wingender Pottery, Haddonfield, NJ, late 19th century, barrel-form cooler with coggled banding to shoulder and base, the bunghole in the form of a mustached man's face, the front incised with the words, "Ice Water", flanked by incised foliate motifs. Base impressed "5". Cobalt highlights throughout. Includes cobalt-banded Wingender lid, too small for cooler. Cooler with a glazed-over base chip to reverse. Lid in excellent condition with a minor edge chip.
