Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Spittoon, attributed to J. Eberly & Co. or S. Bell & Sons, Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, with footed base and carved oval opening at shoulder, the surface decorated with streaks of cream-colored slip, copper, and manganese, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Provenance: From a Virginia estate. A shallow 5/8" base chip. Other nicks and light wear to bottom edge. Some additional very minor surface wear to spittoon. H 3 1/8" ; Diameter 7 1/4".
