Six Dated Stoneware Bottles, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, one impressed with the cobalt-highlighted advertising, "BROWNELL / WHEATON & CO 1856 / BOTTLE NOT SOLD"; one with cobalt-highlighted top and advertising, impressed "J. SIMONDS / 1855"; one with cobalt-highlighted top and advertising, impressed "A. McFARLAND / 1846"; one impressed with the date "1854" along with the cobalt-highlighted advertising, "DENNIS & GRAY."; one impressed "D.L. ORMSBY / 1848" with pre-firing incised slashes to spout and shoulder; and one impressed "1853".BROWNELL bottle with V-shaped line on underside, continuing a short distance onto base. J. SIMONDS bottle with some surface wear, traces of old paint, and a small ping to body. D.L. ORMSBY with three base chips, the largest measuring 1 1/4". All in otherwise very good to excellent H (of tallest) 10 1/4".
