Very Rare Manganese-Decorated Redware Dresser Bank, PA origin, mid to late 19th century, molded in the form of an Empire Period dresser with paneled sides and scrolled front feet, the surface decorated with heavy manganese sponging and pulls coated in cream-colored slip, all covered in a clear lead glaze. Coin slot in shoulder on reverse. A highly unusual form in American manufacture, the vast majority having been produced in England. One rear leg restored. Other rear leg reglued. One front leg reglued. A chip to one pull. L 6 1/8" ; W 4" ; H 5 1/4".
