Two New Geneva, PA Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jars, circa 1875, both with wax sealer rims, a semi-ovoid example, stenciled "A. Conrad. / New Geneva. / Pa", paired with a cylindrical jar, stenciled "J.E. ENEIX / NEW GENEVA. / PA.". Provenance: Collection of Lorren Lambert, Staunton, VA. Conrad jar with two adjacent pieces reglued at rim, measuring a total of 2 1/2", along with a 2 1/4" line descending from this damage, as well as a small chip to center of reglued pieces. Additionally, two small nicks to shoulder molding on reverse and some small chips to interior of rim and inner rim of Conrad jar. Eneix jar missing beginning of stenciled signature, with heavy in-the-firing chipping to bottom edge, and some light surface wear to shoulder on reverse. H (of Conrad jar) 6 1/2".
