Two Small-Sized A.P. Donaghho Stoneware Canning Jars, Parkersburg, WV origin, circa 1875, both of squat, cylindrical form with tooled shoulders and flared wax sealer rims, each cobalt-decorated with A.P. Donaghho maker's stenciling. The taller example features desirable, unusually large stenciling for this form. Provenance: Collection of Lorren Lambert, Staunton, VA. Shorter jar with significant restoration to rim and flaw to stenciling. Taller jar with chipped section to rim on front, a short horizontal line in rim, a small rim chip on reverse, an adhered piece of clay at base, an in-the-firing contact mark to base, and a very faint semicircular line on underside, not visible on interior.
