Four Pieces of Utilitarian Pottery, 19th and 20th centuries, a diminutive black-glazed, engine-turned coffeepot, stamped on underside "JAMES. M. SHAW & CO. / NEW YORK"; a lead-glazed redware jar with daubed manganese decoration, Norwalk CT or Huntington, Long Island, NY origin; an approximately one-half-gallon, stripe-decorated stoneware jug, probably Palatine, WV origin; and a brown-and-white jug with advertising for "SHINNECOCK / DISTRIBUTING CO, / RIVERHEAD & / GREENPORT, N.Y.", impressed on underside, "R.C.P. CO. AKRON/ O.", Robinson Clay Products Co., Akron, Ohio. Coffeepot missing lid. Redware jar with a Y-shaped crack on underside, extending onto base area, heavy rim wear, handle wear, some surface wear, and base chips. Stripe-decorated jug in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Greenport jug in excellent condition with two minor chips to shoulder and a tiny chip to underside at edge.
