Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stamped "PAUL : CUSHMANs", Albany, NY origin, circa 1809, squat-shaped, highly-ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, the front featuring the large coggled maker's mark, "PAUL : CUSHMANs". An approximately 5" X-shaped line on front, emanating from a small surface chip. One small rim chip and one minor rim nick. Various firing flaws to surface, including a 3/4" surface chip associated with a smooth, innocuous contact mark below one handle, iron pings, and a glazed-over surface line at base. Light base wear.
