Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Huntington, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with sloped shoulder and semi-rounded wax sealer rim, the front featuring the stenciled advertising, "THOMAS MEDFORD. / STOVE / QUEENSWARE / ETC. / HUNTINGTON. W.VA". Freehand cobalt stripe decoration above and below. Provenance: From an over forty-year private collection. A 1 1/4" base flake. Some fry to cobalt. A small chip to interior of rim. H 10".
