One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar Pittsburgh, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, the front featuring the elaborate stenciled advertising, "Wm HASLAGE / & CO. / GROCERS AND TEA / DEALERS. / No. 1 Diamon / PITTSBURGH. / PA.". Freehand cobalt stripes to shoulder and base. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with three short, in-the-making scratches to right side of jar, which are glazed over, and an in-the-firing contact mark with small surface chip to right side of jar at base.
