Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, attributed to R.T. Williams, New Geneva, PA, circa 1880, a two-gallon jug with cobalt script "2", decorated with various stripes, dashes, and flourishes, paired with a three-gallon jar, featuring a cobalt script "3" and similar freehand decoration. Provenance: From an over forty-year private collection. Jug with large in-the-firing contact mark / flake to front and a 1" chip to side of spout. Jar with in-the-firing horizontal surface crack at base on reverse/side, not visible on interior, as well as some light wear to reverse, and a small handle chip.
