Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Impressed Decoration, attributed to Clarkson Crolius, Sr., Manhattan, NY, early 19th century, ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder, decorated on the front and reverse with an impressed and cobalt-highlighted design of flower blossoms interspersed with elliptical coggling. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor decades ago. Both handles are fully restored, but not colored. Numerous tiny and small rim chips.
