Four Salt-Glazed Stoneware Pitchers, primarily Southern origin, mid to late 19th century, an unusual small-sized pitcher with narrow rim, Shenandoah Valley of Virginia origin; a miniature, ovoid pitcher with flared rim, North Carolina origin; a larger pitcher with flared rim, North Carolina origin; and a ovoid pitcher with unusual applied screw heads at lower handle terminal, possibly Southern or Midwestern origin. Shenandoah Valley pitcher in excellent condition with a short, minor hairline from rim on reverse. Small NC pitcher in excellent, essentially as-made condition with small piece of adhered clay on underside. Larger NC pitcher with small base chips. Other pitcher with rim chips and a 3 1/4" line on underside, continuing 2 3/8" up base. H (of Shenandoah Valley pitcher) 6".
