Two Rare Molded Stoneware Pitchers, Northeastern U.S., circa 1840, both with albany-slip-glazed surfaces, one with relief grape cluster design, lightly-stamped on underside, "S. RISLEY / NORWICH, CT"; paired with a smaller example with acanthus leaf spout, stamped on underside, "J.T. WINSLOW / PORTLAND, ME". Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, purchased by the consignor decades ago. Risley with a restored 3/4" chip to interior of spout and other minor colored rim chips. Several small filled and/or colored base chips, as well as an unrestored chip to underside at edge and other base wear. Winslow with 1 1/2'" line from rim, wear to handle with some touch-up, a spout nick, and two colored rim nicks. H (of Risley pitcher) 10".
