Four Stoneware Bottles, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, one with cobalt-highlighted mark, "A.J. GLEASON / 1859"; one with cobalt-highlighted mark, " J FRANCIS 1872"; one marked "R.K. & Co., / KNICKERBOCKER"; and one with star stamp, impressed "SAWTELL". Gleason bottle with glazed-over spout chip, lime ping to spout, an approximately 5" vertical hairline, and a base chip. Francis bottle with a large in-the-firing flake to top of spout, a base chip, and a minor glazed-over base chip. Knickerbocker with flake to underside and wear to top of spout. Sawtell in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (of tallest) 10".
