Three-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Cornucopia Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, possibly MA, third quarter 19th century, ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a cornucopia surrounding a script number "3". Includes Albany-slip-glazed lid, impressed "3". Churn in excellent condition with a minor chip to underside, some short and very faint surface lines to base, a minor chip to inner rim for lid, and two short surface lines from rim, not visible on interior. Lid in excellent, essentially as-made condition.
