One-Gallon Huntington, WV Stoneware Advertising Jar, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "HAGAN BROS, / DEALERS IN / STOVES AND / HARDWARE. / HUNTINGTON. W. VA.". Two in-the-firing chips to base area. A smooth 1 1/4" in-the-firing contact mark to reverse. Dark, in-the-firing discoloration to reverse. A 1/2" in-the-firing surface chip / contact mark to side of jar. A 1 1/2" line on underside, continuing 3" up side of jar. Rim slumped during the firing. A small piece of adhered clay at base on front.
