Scarce Miniature Glazed Figure of a Reclining Dog, attributed to John Bell, Waynesboro, PA, circa 1840-1880, molded figure of a dog with curled tail and hand-incised ears, reclining atop a rectangular base. Surface of dog covered in a light-brown lead-and-manganese. Base with lead-glazed surface over a buff ground. The first example of this Bell animal form we have ever offered. Very nice condition with base chips and minor wear to muzzle. L 2 1/2".
