Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1840, approximately two-gallon, squat-shaped pitcher, decorated with a two tulip motifs at the midsection. Base of collar decorated with brushed cobalt dots. Handle with vertical wavy stem and leaf motif. Cobalt highlights to lower handle terminal. Cracks in underside, extending onto base area, including a 3 3/4" spider crack at base on front. A 3 1/2" crack from far left edge of spout, descending from a glazed-over chip. A chip to interior of rim. A 3 1/4" crack from rim on reverse. H 11 1/4".
