Two One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, attributed to the Bissett Pottery, Old Bridge, NJ, circa 1820, both of ovoid form and tooled spout, one with brushed tulip motif, incised "L C", the other with cloud-like design, closely-related to motifs found on James River, VA stoneware, known to have been influenced by the Old Bridge style. Jug incised "L C" with large crack on side, extending onto underside where it forms a Y, as well as a short hairline at base. Other jug with heavy, shallow chipping to base.
