Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, highly-ovoid pitcher with footed base and heavily-tooled collar, decorated on the front with a three-stemmed flowering plant extending around to the sides of the pitcher. Brushed floral decoration on each side of the collar. Spout decorated with a brushed floral motif flanked by swags. Wavy cobalt stripe below rim and cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Restoration to tip of spout, right side of spout, and section of rim. Heavily-chipped section to base.
