Rare Miniature Stoneware Jar with Slip-Trailed Cobalt Decoration, New England origin, possibly Edmands & Co., Charlestown, MA, circa 1840-1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt wreath flanking a wavy cobalt line. Exceptional size. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Very nice overall condition. A very short, minor line in collar. A minor in-the-firing chip to interior of rim and some minor roughness to interior of rim. Two minor surface chips to reverse, probably in-the-firing. H 3 1/8".
