Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Bottles, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, one with slip-trailed letters, J.C.", on one side and the impressed letters, "J.C.", on reverse; the other inscribed "Post" in cobalt. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, purchased by the consignor decades ago. J.C. bottle with a 1 1/4" base chips and numerous blistered and bloated spots, including one to underside. Post bottle in very nice condition with some wear to base. H (of J.C. bottle) 10 3/4".
