Rockingham Figure of a Lion, Marked "H", attributed to the Haig Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1871-1881, molded figure of a reclining lion on oblong base with surface decorated with streaked reddish-brown glaze over a light clay ground. Hand-incised details throughout. Raised letter "H" on base for Haig. Other examples of this form are known with the raised name, "HAIG", on base. Provenance: The Stradlings. Restored ears. Some additional painted restoration to head around ear areas. Small painted chip to nose. A painted base chip. Small, unrestored chips. L 9 1/8".
