Fine Copper-Glazed Redware Jar with Manganese Decoration, PA or New England origin, circa 1840, cylindrical jar with footed base, tooled midsection, and rounded rim, the surface covered in a vibrant green copper glaze with manganese streaks throughout.Possibly Lehigh County, PA origin. Exceptional color. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased at a PA auction years ago. Glaze wear to rim. A minor base chip and other minor base wear. Some glaze wear to shoulder molding. A 1/2" glaze flake to body and other typical light wear to body. H 6 1/4".
