Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Elaborate Brooklyn, NY Advertising, New York City or New York State origin, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, impressed with the cobalt-highlighted advertising, "BE SURE YOU ARE RIGHT THEN GO AHEAD / WALTER B. HARTOUGH / CHINA GLASS CROCKERY / EARTHEN WARE / 701 & 703 705 MYRTLE AVE / BROOKLYN". Two chips to exterior of rim and two chips to interior of rim. Water glass staining to interior. Some light-brown staining to exterior. A faint, approximately 5 1/2" hairline from rim on side of crock.
