Multi-Glazed Redware Flowerpot, attributed to S. Bell & Sons, Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, ovoid pot with flared rim and attached saucer, both with coggled edges, the surface decorated with streaks of copper and manganese over a slip-coated ground. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a sixty-year private collection. Wear to rim. A 1 5/8" hairline from rim. A shallow 3/4" flake to interior of rim. Chips and wear to saucer. Typical in-use residue to interior rim area. H 5".
