Scarce Three-Gallon Double-Handled Stoneware Jug with Alkaline Glaze, Stamped "CJB", Columbus Jackson Becham, Crawford County, GA, late 19th or early 20th century, beehive-form jug with tooled shoulder, tall spout, and open strap handles, the surface covered in a heavy olive-colored alkaline glaze. Impressed "CJB" on top of one handle. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Very nice condition. A shallow flake to top of spout. Some in-the-firing lines to underside. A few short, glazed-over in-the-firing lines to spout. Some short, raised in-the-firing lines to body. H 15".
