Two Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Jugs, American, circa 1880, a two-gallon jug with stenciled diamond motif, stamped "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG"; paired with a two-gallon jug with stenciled floral motif and stenciled "2", probably Palatine, WV origin. Cowden jug in very nice condition with a band of light wear to midsection on side of jug, a small, glazed-over dent near base on front, a minuscule nick to spout, and some light staining. Other jug in excellent, essentially as-made condition with some staining and two small spots of old white paint to side, unrelated to any sort of restoration.
