Rare Salesman's Sample Stoneware Cream Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Central Pennsylvania origin, possibly Pfaltzgraff, York, PA, circa 1870-1890, ovoid jar with flattened rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of three tulips emanating from a leafy stem. Large impressed six-gallon capacity mark below rim. Exceptional size, good decoration, and outstanding condition. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 3 5/8".
