Slip-Decorated Redware Jar, possibly Nathaniel Seymour, West Hartford, CT, circa 1800-1830, cylindrical jar with footed base and tooling to shoulder and rim, decorated with two groups of copper slip stripes over a mottled olive and orange ground. Surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Literature: For similar decoration see Watkins, Early New England Potters and Their Wares, pl. 44. ; Provenance: The Stradlings; Ex-Ronald Dionne, 2002. A 1 1/4" flake to exterior of rim. Other small rim chips. Base chips. H 7".
