Small-Sized Lidded Redware Jar, probably Maine origin, mid 19th century, squat-shaped, semi-ovoid jar with tooled, flaring rim, the surface covered in a streaky cream-colored slip over a mottled reddish ground and covered in a clear lead glaze. Includes fitting redware lid with cream-colored glaze. Jar in excellent condition. Lid with a smooth chip to edge, probably in-the-firing, and a smooth, minor chip to knob. H (including lid) 6 1/4".
