Early Anna Pottery Stoneware Pig Flask, Wallace and Cornwall Kirkpatrick, Anna, IL, circa 1865, molded in the form of a sow with hole at rear, incised details to face and hooves, and deeply-carved nostrils. Surface covered in an Albany slip glaze and incised with the inscription, "Good Old Peach / in a hogs-". Original white and black paint to eyes and red paint to mouth. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, which descended in the family of the consignor. Excellent condition with a chip to genitals. L 8 3/4".
