Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Midwestern origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, featuring a slip-trailed design of a daisy plant featuring two blossoms and scrolled stems. Cobalt highlight to capacity mark. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Very nice condition with a tight, 1 1/2" horizontal crack at base including a small chip, a stained area to side of jug, and a small in-the-firing stone ping near base on reverse.
