One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Southeastern PA origin, circa 1870, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated around the body with a series of large cobalt swags. Collar decorated with leafy brushwork flanking a swag-decorated spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: David Musser Collection. A 3 1/2" crack on underside, continuing 4" up side of pitcher. A chip to spout. A faint horizontal surface line on underside of handle, not visible on opposite side of handle.
