Very Rare and Fine Miniature Stoneware Presentation Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Incised "Rose / 1896", attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, 1896, diminutive, ovoid-bodied pitcher with footed base, tooled accents, and semi-squared rim, featuring the incised and cobalt-highlighted inscription, "Rose / 1896". Inscription flanked on each side by brushed tulips emanating from the base of the handle. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Remmey presentation pitchers are highly desirable in their own right. Examples in this small size are virtually unheard of. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor in the 1990s. Excellent condition with a 7/8" surface line from rim on exterior, not visible on interior. H 4 1/4".
