Four Stoneware Bottles, American, 19th century, one with cobalt-highlighted mark, "DURFEE'S / KNICKERBOCKER / ROOT BEER"; one stamped "JOHN BOLD"; one with cobalt band and the cobalt-highlighted mark, "SMITH'S WHITE ROOT BEER"; and with the cobalt-highlighted mark, "SMITH'S WHITE ROOT / PAT'D JULY 17'66". Durfee bottle with firing flaws and wear to shoulder. Bold bottle with a few surface nicks and in-the-firing chipping to base. Cobalt-banded Smith's bottle in as-made condition with in-the-firing residue to underside and a minor glazed-over spout nick. Other Smith's bottle with some staining to base and shallow chipping to base. H (of Bold bottle) 10 3/4".
