Three-Quart Stoneware Pitcher with Floral Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled accents to body and collar, decorated with two large flowers emanating from a stripe at the base. Cobalt leaf decoration around collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Exceptional color. Provenance: David Musser Collection. A restored top-to-bottom crack on left side of pitcher, with a short unrestored section of the crack visible on underside. Restored rim chips. A small chip to interior of rim. A small in-the-firing base chip and minor base nick on reverse.
