Five-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt "Fishing Lure" Decoration, Midwestern origin, circa 1875, cylindrical churn with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a flower resembling a fishing lure, surrounded by spots. Slip-trailed with a script "5" above, underscored with looping lines. Some spots of fry to cobalt. A small chip to handle. A small chip to rim. Some wear to inner rim, which would hold a lid.
