Very Rare Miniature Stoneware Mug with Cobalt Spot Decoration, attributed to the Decker Family, Keystone Pottery, Chucky Valley, TN, late 19th century, tapered form with tooled banding and ribbed handle, decorated with brushed cobalt spots around the shoulder and a cobalt stripe at the base. Brushed cobalt slip along top of handle and surrounding lower terminal as well as a single cobalt spot accenting surface of handle base. This mug, most likely made as a child's toy, is the smallest Decker example we have seen. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignors' parents decades ago. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a salt drip to interior. H 2 7/8".
