Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Fruit Jar, Stamped "PEACHES" and "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER", Clarkson Crolius, Sr., Manhattan, NY, circa 1810, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, impressed with the large cobalt-highlighted stamp, "PEACHES", surrounded by scalloped cobalt brushwork. Reverse with cobalt-highlighted maker's mark, "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER", surrounded by a scalloped cobalt border. A highly-prized Crolius form in an excellent size. A 4" hairline from rim on "PEACHES" side. A 5 1/2" crack from rim on Crolius side. H 8".
