Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1830, a one-gallon jar with cobalt highlights to handles and maker's mark, stamped "STEDMAN / & / SEYMOUR / NEW-HAVEN"; paired with a one-gallon jar with brushed floral motif on front, scalloped cobalt line decoration on reverse, and cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Lot includes a 19th century, Albany-slip-glazed stoneware lid, which loosely fits either jar. New Haven jar with shallow chips to rim, glazed-over chips to base, and a few short lines to base. Other jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Lid with minor nicks.
