Rare Open-Handled Tanware Vase, New Geneva or Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1885, ovoid-bodied vase with tall, cylindrical neck and open strap handles, decorated in Albany slip with an elaborate looping vine extending from the reverse onto the front, culminating in an open-center flower blossom. Neck decorated with an inverted drape-and-dot motif. Rim, midsection, and handles decorated with Albany slip stripes. Exceptional form with appealing decoration. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 6".
