Two Unusual New York City Stoneware Druggist's Jars, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1835, both with Albany-slip-glazed surfaces, a diminutive bulbous jar, stamped "THOMAS & MAXWELL / SUCCESSORS TO / JAMES S ASPINWALL / DRUGGISTS & CHEMISTS / NO 86 WILLIAM ST N Y", paired with a small-sized, cylindrical jar, stamped "JAMES S. ASPINWALL, / DRUGGISTS & C. / NO. 86 WILLIAM St. NEW YORK". Bulbous jar includes wooden stopper. A nice pair of early New York City druggist jars, featuring advertising from the same location. Bulbous jar with two small in-the-firing contact marks and some restoration to rim. Cylindrical jar with a few rim chips, a base chip and minor base nicks, and a small iron ping to right side.
